Jennifer Lagasca is originally from Wayne, Pennsylvania, and now resides with her family in Florida. After receiving her B.A. from the University of South Carolina, Jennifer moved to Washington, DC, and joined the Government Relations office of Fluor Corporation. She moved from Fluor Corporation to a prominent lobbying firm prior to joining the staff of Senator Bob Smith (R-NH), where she served as his scheduler and executive assistant before being promoted to the position of Legislative Scheduler for the Senate under the direction of the Senate Majority Leader’s Office. When Senator Smith was given the Chairmanship of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, Jennifer was brought on to manage the administrative side of the committee as the Committee's Executive Clerk. After the elections in 2002, Jennifer joined her parents in Indialantic and worked for the Brevard Zoo prior to her marriage. After marrying her husband in 2003, the couple moved to Okinawa, Japan, and was later transferred back to Washington, DC. Upon her return, Jennifer continued her work in the Senate as Assistant Scheduler to Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) before accepting the Volunteer Coordinator position with the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. Inspired by the opportunity to educate the public about animal welfare issues, Jennifer began her studies toward a Master of Education through Liberty University, which she completed in 2014. During her studies, she served as Board President of Little Blessings Preschool, a ministry of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Leesburg, VA. Upon the retirement of her husband after 26 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, the Lagasca family settled in Florida, where Jennifer began working as an educator for Just Think, a cognitive and academic coaching practice, before teaching for the Brevard County Public Schools. Seeking a deeper understanding of how education could change, Jennifer began working on her Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction with Liberty University and expects to complete her degree in 2026.
